Thousands of Young Athletes Compete in School Games

The Oxfordshire School Games is a year round programme offering every school-age pupil in Oxfordshire the opportunity to access high-quality competitive school sport.

Area competitions culminate in county finals, where schools from each of the five Oxfordshire areas compete to determine county champions for that age group and sport. Many of these competitions are held as part of two Olympic-style Festivals, held in the Spring and Summer terms.

This summer, the Oxfordshire Sainsbury’s School Games Summer Festival took place at Tilsley Park with thousands of young athletes taking part in competitions ranging from Quadkids, to Super6, Cycling, Tri-golf, Panathlon, Rowing, Softball, Swimming, Tennis and Triathlon for both primary and secondary schools.

Nicola says, ‘With the excitement over for this year, it’s time to congratulate the winners and thank the organisers for this years’ fantastic Festival and wish all competitors, schools and other participants good luck and most important, lots of fun for the School Games next year!
