Thanks to Emergency Services for Saving the Randolph

Nicola was grateful for the opportunity to visit the Randolph Hotel today to meet staff, Assistant Chief Fire Officer Simon Furlong and Cllr Rodney Rose to inspect the fire damage and thank the emergency services for quick response to the incident.

Nicola says Anyone who lives in Oxford knows the Randolph as a local institution. Credit is due to the hotel staff and emergency services for evacuating all staff and guests without injury and bringing the blaze under control so quickly. This was a major fire and without their swift, professional response it could have been quite a different story.

Repairs are underway and have made impressive progress but they face some formidable logistical challenges. In the meantime, the Hotel is open for business again and serving its signature (delicious) afternoon teas.
