Nicola joins Fun in the Park in Abingdon

Abingdon is this year celebrating its annual Fun in the Park Day, the much-loved summer festival in the vibrant market town. Nicola was delighted to pop along to Fun in the Park in the Abbey Grounds on 6th June and take a look at the various events going on, including live music, dance performances, rides, children’s activities and other stalls.

Among other groups she stopped by to congratulate the Abingdon Historical Society on the fantastic progress they have made with the the ‘Abingdon Buildings and People’ history website project which is bringing Abingdon’s past alive for all of us (find out more here: Abingdon Buildings & People), made a dismal attempt at playing the cornet while some very patient members of the Abingdon Town Band covered their ears, and caught up with the exciting plans for next year’s ATOM Festival of Science & Technology in Abingdon.

The day was well attended by local families and communities, and the day finished with Music in the Park- sing-a-long proms and a fantastic firework display.
