Nicola calls for sensible planning policies

Nicola joined local campaigner, Giles Lewis, of Begbroke and Yarnton Green Belt Campaign to present a petition signed by hundreds of local residents to the Leader of Cherwell District Council, Cllr Barry Wood.

Thousands of new homes are proposed for the Cherwell area, and Nicola is standing alongside residents in saying this is too much.

Nicola says: While we desperately need more housing locally – Oxford housing is now the most unaffordable in the country – new development must only go ahead where it is supported by necessary infrastructure and where the character of the local area is protected. 4,500 more houses in Kidlington, Yarnton & Begbroke are simply too many. We need some common sense from planners here.
