Kidlington FC: ‘Growing the Game’

Nicola was delighted to congratulate Kidlington FC for being selected as one of six clubs in Oxfordshire to win a Football Foundation ‘Grow the Game’ grant worth £3000.

The clubs are:

• Launton Ladies & Girls FC
• Kidlington FC
• Tower Hill FC
• Crowmarsh Youth FC
• Goring Robins FC
• Oxford Futsal Club

The grant will allow the six clubs to create a total of 16 new teams over the next three years. This equates to 11 new female teams and 5 new male teams.

The key strength of Grow the Game is that its participation increases are sustainable rather than transient. Its grants create a solid infrastructure of teams and newly-trained coaches in which new people can start playing the sport, rather than simply providing temporary activity sessions, which are then vulnerable to drops in participation once the programme ends.
