European Health Collaboration on Genomics and AMR
This week I attended the European Council Informal Meeting of Health Ministers.
In particular, we discussed the crucial collaborations between our nations which we are forging to tackle the great global health challenges we are all facing today: the Million Genomes Project which will play a critical role in better understanding and preventing noncommunicable diseases, the Interagency Coordination Group on Antimicrobial Resistance and I highlighted the important role that European Research Networks and global disease registries play in earlier diagnosis and more targeted treatment for patients with rare diseases.
