Important community initiative to support refugees

Nicola visited Host Abingdon to hear about their volunteer work supporting refugees and asylum seekers. Host Abingdon is an initiative of The Fellowship of St Ethelwold in Abingdon, run by Trustees and volunteers and is kept afloat financially by running a bed and breakfast.

The Host Abingdon team is calling on residents to donate food and clothes and urging anybody who wishes to help to get in touch. Nicola was encouraged to hear about take up and donations so far and how the scheme will work to help refugees to integrate in to the community and access the assistance they need.
