Nicola was delighted to host an event in the House of Commons with the Climate Change Coalition, for the launch of their new campaign ‘For the love of…’.
The For the love of… campaign aims to raise awareness of climate change and the need to take action, encouraging people to think about their personal motivations for tackling climate change and how we can work together to achieve this.
Nicola spoke of her commitment to women and girls in conflict areas, who are more vulnerable to the effect of climate change, and was pleased to welcome representatives from the National Federation of Women’s Institutes, the British Medical Association and SAB Miller to discuss why climate change matters to them. Also speaking at the event were school children from Ashley Church of England Primary School, who spoke about their trip to The Mer de Glace where they saw first-hand the impact of global warming.
Nicola says: “I was pleased to be able to host today’s event. Climate change matters to all of us, and for different reasons, and so today was a great opportunity to hear from climate change specialists, businesses, health professionals, campaigners and school children about why it is so important and how we can make a real difference.”
