Fabulous over-70s party in Abingdon

Nicola was pleased to attend the Mayor of Abingdon’s festive over-70s Christmas party at Preston Road Community Centre, chat with local residents and hear about their plans for Christmas and the year ahead.

Everyone was in good spirits and Nicola was delighted to have the opportunity to serve out sandwiches, tea and cake to the group of around 75 pensioners, along with members of the Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service and local Police Community Support Officers.

The Abingdon Mummers then put on a fantastic Christmas play for the gathering which was very well-received. Abingdon Mayor Helen Pighills also handed out party bags of alcohol and chocolate.

Nicola says It was great fun and a real pleasure. Each year the Christmas Party is recognised as a fantastic community event and I look forward to coming along in future.
