Defence Secretary Inspects Puma Upgrade

Nicola invited the Defence Secretary, Michael Fallon, to Kidlington Airbus Helicopters to see for himself the progress being made on Royal Air Force’s Puma Mk2 helicopters, and meet the engineers and apprentices responsible for upgrading the helicopters to improve their mission capability and operational safety for our troops.

Kidlington Airbus Helicopters are world leaders in their field and also manufacture and maintain 75% of police helicopters and 65% of air ambulances in the UK, as well as a significant civil fleet and export operation.

They are a major local employer with 191 employees and 12 apprentices.

Nicola says ‘Kidlington Airbus are a major local employer, with an award winning apprenticeship programme and their work ensuring that the Puma mk2 is delivered safely and on time is vital to ensuring that our troops go into the field with the equipment they need.’
