Botley Out in Force Against Westway Development Plan

Nicola joined over 750 Botley residents in the Westway Shopping Centre on Saturday to oppose Doric’s plans for redevelopment and call on the Vale Planning Committee to reject their application.

Addressing the crowd, Nicola thanked campaigners and residents who have submitted over a thousand objections to the planning application, which closed on Monday 13 October, saying:

‘You should be proud of the extraordinary campaign you have already run demonstrating the strength of community spirit here in Botley and the great value placed on making sure that any changes to Westway Shopping Centre are right for local resident and right for local businesses.’

Nicola has submitted her own objection to the planning application, making it clear that Doric’s proposals are entirely out of character with Botley and will cause traffic chaos and expressing serious objections to the treatment of Field House residents, who have experienced over two years of uncertainty about their future.
