BORIS BACKS ABINGDON’S SMALL BUSINESSES

On a surprise visit to Abingdon Market Square this weekend, Boris Johnson addressed a rally of local residents before visiting local small businesses in the Town Centre.

As PPS to the Business Minister since 2013, Nicola has fought hard for Small Businesses, helping to introduce new laws to slash red tape, end late payment and increase access to finance. Not to mention voting consistently to cut business taxes since 2010.

Among the many local businesses Boris visited were the winners of Nicola’s #shoplocal competition, in which Abingdon residents nominated their favourite independent shops – including Fabulous Flowers, Galaxy Techno, Patisserie Pascal, Added Ingredients, Mostly Books, Thomson Travel, Lewis Baker and others..

Boris’ message was clear: only a Conservative Government would back small businesses. Reviewing business rates, trebling start up loans, keeping the Employment Allowance and delivering 3 million more Apprentices.
