Oxfordshire Mind is celebrating its 50th birthday this week, and Nicola was pleased to visit and congratulate them on their hard work and discuss plans for the future. Nicola met with their CEO, Dan Knowles, to catch up and learn more about local services provided by Mind as well as new projects being brought forward.
As Minister for Public Health and Innovation, Nicola does a lot of work on mental health issues and has worked closely with Mind to launch inspiring initiatives to raise awareness of mental health issues.
Oxfordshire Mind is leading the way in encouraging individuals and employers to appreciate the importance of wellbeing and to help change attitudes, all the while providing carefully tailored support to vulnerable people running a range of services.
Nicola says: I have always been proud to support Mind who do such important work to intervene early and provide support to those who need it most. In the fifty years since Oxfordshire Mind began we’ve seen encouraging progress: record levels of investment in mental health and more and more people accessing services, and above all Mind have been able to genuinely improve people’s lives across the county.
